Hound 13, the South Korean game developer popular for their “Hundred Soul” mobile game has recently teased their newest game project tentatively named “Project D.” Currently in development, “Project D” will be an open-world RPG that will focus heavily on real-time combat, similar to “Hundred Soul.”
“Project D” is currently being developed using Unreal Engine 5. The game has not been fully revealed yet but we do have some information as to what it will be. Aside from being open-world, “Project D” will let players go on adventures and work together to bring down huge boss enemies. As mentioned above, Hound 13 became quite the popular game studio because of their first and the only currently published game of theirs, “Hundred Soul.” The studio will be bringing what they learned from that game and will implement it in “Project D” which means we can expect some epic combat mechanics, loads of monsters to slay, and maybe some combo system as well. They also mentioned that combat will be manual, so we assume there will be no to little auto-attack or auto-lock in involved the game.
Judging from the trailer, players will be able to own mounts that can traverse all kinds of terrain. They can climb, glide, swim, and dive underwater. There will be vast grasslands to explore, some cities that will serve as hubs for players, and even underwater biomes to discover. Hound 13 opted for a multiple-character type RPG which will probably be their monetization method. No doubt it will be something like a gacha system. We can see from the trailer that each character has their own unique weapons like crossbows, lance, scythe, two-handed swords, and many more.

We currently do not know if the game will play out like “Tower Of Fantasy” where you can only use one character at any given time or if it will be like “Genshin Impact” where you can form a team of multiple characters. If we’re going to be perfectly honest, it feels and looks a lot like “Dragon Nest.” But hopefully, it won’t play exactly like “DN” since the IP’s formula has been reused too many times.

“Project D” teased at the end of the trailer the words “Dragon Sword.” Maybe that will be the official title once it’s been fully unveiled or maybe the plot of the game will revolve around that said sword? Who knows. For now, we can confirm that “Project D” is currently being developed for PC as well as mobile and that Garena is backing them up. The game is aiming to be released for the global market.
