PUBG Black Budget PvPvE Extraction Shooter May See A 2026 Release Window

The game codenamed Black Budget is a new extraction-style shooter from Krafton, the studio behind PUBG: Battlegrounds. It’s described as a PvPvE looter-extraction experience set within the PUBG universe and aims to expand the franchise beyond traditional battle-royale gameplay.

Release Window & Platforms

No official launch date has been announced yet, but Krafton has confirmed that an open beta is planned before the end of 2025. Many expect a full release to follow in 2026.
While platforms haven’t been officially confirmed, the game is expected to launch on PC, console, and possibly mobile.

Gameplay & Features

Although details remain unofficial, early reports suggest that Black Budget will include:

  • A large 2.5 × 2.5 km map with both urban and underground zones.
  • High-quality first-person shooter mechanics similar to PUBG’s gunplay.
  • PvPvE dynamics that mix player-versus-player and player-versus-environment encounters.
  • Extraction zones and rogue NPC enemies to increase tension.
  • A dynamic shrinking zone or timed extraction that forces engagements.

Pricing Model

The pricing model remains unclear. Observers speculate it could either follow a free-to-play structure, similar to PUBG’s recent shift, or a premium model priced around $40–$45, aligning with other extraction shooters.
