RF Online Next Propels Netmarble’s Q1 2025 Revenue to New Heights

Netmarble’s Q1 2025 financials reveal a remarkable achievement: a total revenue of $429 million, with RF Online Next playing a pivotal role in this success. Launched in Korea on March 20, 2025, RF Online Next is a modern revival of the classic 2004 MMORPG, RF Online. Within just 18 hours of its release, the game soared to the top of Apple’s App Store sales charts in Korea, demonstrating its immediate impact and popularity.

The game’s appeal lies in its blend of nostalgia and innovation. It introduces large-scale battles supporting up to 450 players, customizable “Biosuits,” and powerful “Sacred Equipment” accessible without purchases, catering to both veteran fans and new players.

Strategic Diversification and Global Reach

Netmarble’s success isn’t solely due to RF Online Next. The company’s strategic focus on diversifying its game portfolio and expanding globally has been instrumental. In Q1 2025, North America accounted for 46% of Netmarble’s revenue, followed by South Korea at 18% and Europe at 14%.

By leveraging existing intellectual properties and embracing platform diversification, Netmarble has reduced costs and broadened its audience. This approach not only revitalizes classic franchises like RF Online but also positions the company for sustained growth in the competitive gaming industry.

Looking Ahead: Upcoming Releases and Continued Growth

Building on the momentum from RF Online Next, Netmarble plans to launch several new titles in 2025, including Game of Thrones: King’s Road, Seven Knights Re: BIRTH, and The King of Fighters AFK. These releases aim to further diversify the company’s offerings and solidify its presence in the global market.

With a successful strategy of reviving beloved IPs and expanding its global footprint, Netmarble is poised for continued success in the gaming industry.
