The Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team, has launched to an impressive start on Steam, receiving “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews from early-access players. This early success comes as a surprise to many, given initial skepticism about Bloober Team’s ability to handle the subtleties of the iconic survival horror title.
Despite concerns over the studio’s jumpscare-heavy approach to horror, fans and critics alike seem pleased with the remake’s fidelity to the original game. As of this writing, the game has garnered 2,097 user reviews, with only 103 negative responses, mostly citing technical issues on the PC version. Positive reviews praise Bloober for capturing the spirit of the original, calling it a “remake done right.”

The game officially launches on October 8 for most players, but those who purchased the Digital Deluxe version received early access. So far, it appears that Bloober Team has exceeded expectations with its take on the classic. Check out the game’s Steam page for more info.
