Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Aniplex, & Pocketpair Establish Palworld Entertainment

Sony Music Entertainment Japan (SMEJ), its subsidiary Aniplex, and game developer Pocketpair have announced the creation of a joint venture named Palworld Entertainment Inc. This new entity aims to expand the reach and commercial opportunities of the hit game Palworld, which gained immense popularity in 2024, surpassing 25 million players within a month of its release.

Palworld, available on multiple platforms including PC and Xbox, is a multiplayer open-world survival game featuring monster-capturing, base-building, and combat elements. The joint venture will focus on global licensing, merchandising, and expanding the game’s intellectual property beyond the interactive experience.

Palworld Entertainment’s first initiative will be the launch of exclusive merchandise at Bilibili World 2024 in Shanghai, with further details and pre-orders available through Aniplex’s e-commerce sites.
