The comeback is real! Despite the terrible weather, ESGS 2022, was a massive success with hundreds, if not thousands of fans flocking to the premier esports and gaming summit in the Philippines! Because of the recent COVID-19 restrictions, the event couldn’t launch its annual convention. Now that the limitations have been lifted a bit and people can now lead a semi-normal life, gamer enthusiasts, cosplayers, esports teams, and everything in between celebrated the return of ESGS and did it deliver! Here are the highlights during the 3-day event!

The Presence of Huge Tech and Gaming Companies

With ESGS 2022’s comeback also comes the return of the biggest brands in tech and hardware related to gaming such as MSI, Asus ROG, Acer Predator, and a lot more. They even offered event-exclusive promos and discounts at their majestic and interactive booths! Acer for example had their gaming laptops on sale during the event which had huge discounts! Their stock sold out immediately! They even had to make an official statement on their social media page about how fast their units sold out!

Additionally, some of them had gimmicks such as meet and greet with famous gaming personalities like Een Mercado and Kang Dupet cosplaying as Star guardian Ahri of League of Legends and Sage of Valorant. Check out the images below to see how glorious those booths were constructed!

Gaming companies peppered the convention which includes HoYoverse’s “Genshin Impact,” Level Infinite with “Tower Of Fantasy,” and Gravity with “Ragnarok Arena” which has recently concluded a successful Closed Beta Test! They offered freebies and showcased their awesome games through their equality awesome booths!

There were also new games that were exclusive for the media to try and test such as Sega’s “Ishin: Like A Dragon,” a historical spin-off title of the popular Yakuza (also known as “Like A Dragon”) game franchise. “Sonic Frontier,” another highly anticipated game by Sega was also showcased as well as “Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA!”

As the platinum exhibitor of this year’s convention, Riot Games debuted at ESGS with a bang! Their highly popular games, the hero shooter “VALORANT” and mobile MOBA, “League Of Legends: Wild Rift” had their own awesome booths! Activities and surprises awaited the eventgoers for both! They even held a hugely successful cosplay competition where participants were given a platform to show off their awesome work and talent as characters from the world of “VALORANT” and “LOL’s” Runeterra!

And of course, Globe Telecom, the event’s main co-presenter, has its own dedicated spot for its cluster of booths! There’s no party like an ESGS party without Globe!

Lots of Tournaments for Pro and Casual Players

ESGS won’t be complete without their annual tournaments and player-versus-player arenas for everyone! This year included the renowned Fighting Game Arena and the new Astra Arena. All sorts of PVP games were played from fighting to MOBA were being played and showcased on the sites complete with shout casters and prizes!

Philippines is known for its love of the ever-so-popular MOBA game, “DOTA” so of course, it was also present during ESGS 2022! A watch party was held that featured the “DOTA” International 11 which has held in Singapore! Check out the highlights down below! Are you one of the audience watching?

NFT and Blockchain Gaming

The new page in gaming history was also present at ESGS 2022! NFT collectors and Blockchain Gaming lovers enjoyed the presence of Apeiron, D.G. Pals, MetaverseGO, and a lot more! NFTs and blockchain are said to be the future of gaming and with their attendance at ESGS 2022, it seems that the future is already at our doorstep! Do you play NFT and blockchain games as well?

Indie Game Devs From Various Schools, Small Dev Companies, and Orgs

Lots of up-and-coming game developers from various schools were in attendance showcasing their works including De La Salle University, Ateneo De Naga, and San Jose Recoletos among many others. There were also small dev companies and organizations that showcased their various projects. Among them include Psychic City Games, Bears Downstairs, and Senshi.Labs, Polylab Studios, and many more. ESGS has integrated Indie devs since 2018 to give them a platform to showcase their talents, creativity, and passion for gaming.

Special Meet-ups with Famous Gaming Icons and Celebrities

The Tier One Entertainment Family, who are always at ESGS will not miss the chance to be present at the event’s epic comeback! They organized autograph signings and meet-ups for their famous talents including Bianca Ya, Pinda Panda, Ashley Gosiengfiao, and many more. Their premium merch was also present at their booths for anyone to purchase!

Talks regarding Esports and Gaming Careers.

For those who love esports and want to have a gaming career, it was the perfect time to attend ESGS 2022 as a panel was held that talked about those subjects. They covered the basics and advanced pointers for those who see gaming as their future. The talk included comments on how to build your portfolio, how to create a con, and how to start a career in esports and gaming.

Cosplayers and Riot Cosplay Contest

Riot Game’s awesome cosplay competition truly got the attendees and fans all hyped up! The contestants really gave it their all and their creativity really showed through their cosplays! You can see some Star Guardians, in attendance, participants who dressed up as the Arcane versions of some of LOL’s champions, and Killjoy from VALORANT complete with her trusty turret!

Running around the convention can drain your energy, but the event’s got you covered on that front! Delicious food and drinks were available for purchase inside so you won’t need to go out SMX and continue your mission to explore everything ESGS 2022 had to over!

ESGS 2022 was truly a real comeback. The event gave its attendees a wonderful and awesome experience ever. Even though the weather was bad, everyone still pushed through, from the participating brands, special guests, the ESGS team, Gariath Concepts, and of course, you, the attendee.
