Kadokawa Corporation has officially revealed a new video game adaptation based on the hit anime and light novel series The Rising of the Shield Hero. The title will be released globally on PC, iOS, and Android, bringing Naofumi Iwatani’s journey into an interactive format once again.
Capturing the Anime’s Spirit
According to the announcement, the game aims to faithfully translate the look and feel of the anime into gameplay. Series author Aneko Yusagi praised the art direction, saying the visuals succeeded in making it feel as if the anime had been transformed into a living game. Meanwhile, character designer Minami Seira confirmed their active involvement in development, ensuring fidelity to the original designs while refining them for interactive experiences.
Gameplay, Story, and New Elements
While concrete details are still limited, the game will allow players to enjoy both the story and unique battles through their own hero. That implies the potential for original story branches or gameplay beyond simply recreating familiar arcs.
