The Sims Mobile to Shut Down on January 20, 2026 After Seven Years

After operating for more than seven years, The Sims Mobile is coming to an end. Players can continue to play until January 20, 2026, at 1:59 PM UTC, when the game’s servers will be permanently shut down, according to the developers.

When and What’s Changing

The shutdown procedure has already started. All in-app purchases and pack sales were stopped on October 20, 2025. Additionally, players were given limitless energy to perform tasks more easily. Although current players can still play, the game was taken down from app stores on October 21 to prevent new downloads.

Regardless of level or past purchases, everyone will be able to access all Build Mode and Create-A-Sim items on January 6, 2026. Lastly, all progress and access will terminate permanently on January 20, 2026, when the servers go offline.

The Reason It’s Shutting Down

As development slowed and attention shifted to other franchise projects, the Sims Mobile has seen a decline in updates in recent years. Ending support seems to be in line with initiatives to steer the series in a different direction.

Before the shutdown, players are urged to enjoy the last few months of the game, finish up unfinished tasks, and take advantage of the impending full item unlock. The game will no longer be playable after January 20, 2026.
