CyberAgent, the parent company of Cygames, revealed in its April–June 2025 financial results that the global release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby has become the studio’s third best-selling game. This success contributed significantly to the company’s gaming business growth, making it one of the largest revenue drivers of the quarter.
CyberAgent’s total revenue for Q3 rose 10.9% year-over-year to 210.7 billion yen (about $1.46 billion USD). Operating profit surged by 138.3%, reaching 19.6 billion yen (around $136 million USD).
Gaming Division Sees Explosive Growth
The gaming division reported a 30.4% increase in sales, a 46.6% rise in net profit, and a massive 320% jump in operating profit. This equates to roughly $377 million USD in total gaming revenue, $60.7 million USD in net profit, and $122.8 million USD in operating profit.
CyberAgent President Susumu Fujita highlighted the top three profit-driving titles:
- SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL – Over 6 million downloads since April 2025.
- Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond – 2 million downloads since its June 2025 launch.
- Umamusume: Pretty Derby Global – Now a major income source, alongside being one of CyberAgent’s key original IPs.

From Japanese Hit to Global Phenomenon
Before its global debut, Umamusume: Pretty Derby was already a sensation in Japan and across Asia. From its February 2021 launch to May 2024, it earned over $2.53 billion USD, accounting for roughly 72% of Cygames’ mobile game revenue.
With positive reviews on Steam and an ever-growing fan community, the game shows no signs of slowing down. For Cygames, Umamusume has officially joined the ranks of its most reliable long-term moneymakers in the global market.
