“VALORANT” Team Forced To Forfeit A Match Cause One Member Was Busy Playing “Honkai: Star Rail”

In the world of professional esports, forfeiting a match is a big deal, but come on, you really can’t blame people for finding this quite funny. Recently, a team competing in the “VALORANT” Challengers League in Taiwan and Hong Kong had to forfeit a match because one of their players was too busy playing the recently released “Honkai: Star Rail.”

One member of the Ghost CommandoS (GCS) team member was so engrossed in the game, they forgot to install the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) client in time for their match against opponent S2 Esports. As a result, GCS was forced to forfeit the game, much to the disappointment of their fans.

Interestingly, many fans in the comments of the Twitter post about the incident sympathized with the player, saying they “can’t blame them” and find the whole thing quite hilarious. “Honkai: Star Rail” has been downloaded by over 20 million users in less than five days, and like many other games developed by miHoYo, it has a large story and plenty of daily missions to keep players hooked for hours on end.

However, being a professional esports player requires discipline, focus, and dedication. Forfeiting a match due to a player’s distraction is not only disappointing for fans but can also have consequences for the team’s overall performance and standing in the league. GCS was able to play another match soon after the forfeit, but unfortunately, they lost, ending up in eighth place overall.
