XLGAMES has officially revealed THE CUBE, SAVE US, a next-generation post-apocalyptic extraction shooter built in Unreal Engine 5. The title will be showcased during Steam Next Fest, running from October 14 to October 21, 2025 (KST), where players worldwide can download and play a free demo.

Enter the Cube to Survive

The game’s story takes place on an Earth devastated by nuclear war, where a massive, alien-made cube holds the key to survival. Players must venture inside the cube to gather supplies, battle mutants, fight rival squads, and escape alive. Each match supports up to 63 players in high-stakes PvPvE combat.

Gameplay Features and Systems

At the core of THE CUBE, SAVE US is its unique cube structure, consisting of 27 interconnected fragments that form diverse environments. Players never know what dangers await beyond the next doorway, creating suspense and replayability.

Unlike traditional class-based shooters, the game lets players shape their playstyle using seven weapon types and special skills such as Invisibility and Blink, adding tactical depth to the fast-paced firefights.

Cinematic & Gameplay Reveals

Alongside the announcement, XLGAMES released both a cinematic trailer and raw gameplay footage. The cinematic highlights tense melee combat against mutants and raiders, dramatizing the desperate fight to escape the cube. The gameplay showcase demonstrates squad-based exploration, NPC interactions, character customization, and chaotic firefights inside the cube itself.

In its current demo build, three-player squads enter the cube, clash with other teams, overcome environmental hazards, and attempt daring extractions.

Steam Next Fest Demo in October

From October 14 to 21, Steam users will be able to download and play the demo for free, experiencing firsthand the game’s innovative environment system, intense PvPvE action, and strategic survival mechanics.
