The Nintendo Switch 2 introduces a 7.9-inch 1080p HDR LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering sharper visuals and smoother gameplay. When docked, the console supports up to 4K resolution at 60fps, making for a more immersive gaming experience. Storage capacity has also seen a major upgrade, with 256GB of internal space allowing players to keep more games on hand.

A major improvement comes with the redesigned Joy-Con controllers, which now attach magnetically and function similarly to a mouse in compatible games, offering enhanced precision. The addition of two USB-C ports allows for more flexible charging and connectivity. One standout feature is the new “C” button, providing instant access to GameChat for seamless in-game voice communication.

Launch Titles and Game Compatibility

Nintendo has confirmed an exciting lineup of games for the Switch 2’s release. One of the biggest titles is Mario Kart World, a fresh installment in the beloved franchise with new mechanics and tracks. Another highly anticipated game is Super Mario Party Jamboree, which will release on July 24, 2025, and take advantage of the Switch 2’s enhanced controls and voice recognition features. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will also receive a major update, leveraging the console’s improved hardware to enhance graphics and performance.
