Dragon Nest’s most Beloved Class, the Academic came to Classic

As of August 13 (00:00 KST), the PC MMORPG Dragon Nest Classic, serviced by Eyedentity Games, has officially updated its most iconic and popular class — the Academic. First introduced in the original Dragon Nest, the Academic has consistently been a fan favorite, a fact proven once again when over 100,000 players pre-registered for her return ahead of the update.

Dragon Nest Classic is renowned for its rich and compelling storylines, and the Academic offers even more special narrative arc, setting her apart from the four existing classes. Hailing from the future to save the world, her journey gradually unravels a deeper, more personal mystery about her true identity. Fans can watch an animated short of her crash-landing into the past on the official Dragon Nest YouTube channel (@dragonnestseaofficial).

Despite her petite and adorable appearance, the Academic is a genius girl with a mastery of engineering and alchemy. She’s a unique support character who uses heavy artillery like cannons and synthesis gauntlets for ranged attacks. Upon advancement, players can choose between two first-job paths: Engineer, which focuses on explosive mechanical firepower, or Alchemist, which features support skills rooted in alchemy.

To celebrate the launch of the Academic, Dragon Nest Classic is hosting a variety of special events. Players who create an Academic character will receive abundant growth materials to help level up quickly and easily. Additionally, those who complete a limited-time quest can earn exclusive rewards including the all-new “Space Pirates” wing/tail/decal set and a unique costume set tailored for the Academic — all for free.

Creative contests for the community are also in the works. Starting August 15, the “AI VS ME” contest invites players to create fan art of their in-game characters and pit it against AI-generated versions. Users whose creations are judged superior to the AI’s will be rewarded with up to 100 Pandora’s Hearts. On August 28, another unique contest will challenge players to design their own Image Title, an iconic feature highly popular among fans of the game.

Eyedentity Games has also revealed plans to continue bringing nostalgic original content to Dragon Nest Classic through a series of future updates, rekindling fond memories for longtime fans of the franchise.
