Saroasis Studios, a Tencent subsidiary, has announced that the PC-exclusive closed beta for Fate Trigger will officially begin on July 24, 2025. This marks a major step forward for the anime-style tactical shooter, which is gearing up for a full release on PC, mobile, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S later this year. Steam sign-ups for the beta are currently live, offering players early access to new heroes, weapons, and game modes.

A Hero Shooter Fueled by Anime Flair and Unreal Engine 5
Originally revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2024 under the name Fate Trigger: The Novita, the game has come a long way. Built in Unreal Engine 5, Fate Trigger is a hero-based shooter that leans heavily into anime aesthetics, offering diverse characters and action-packed tactical gameplay. Players step into the role of Awakeners—elite agents who scavenge, craft, and battle across dynamic sci-fi landscapes.
In its upcoming closed beta, players will experience expanded content that pushes Fate Trigger further than before.

What to Expect in the Beta Test
The CBT will introduce three new playable heroes—Bloodprowler Ryoin, Crystalscar Cynric, and Lootracer Mindy—bringing the total roster to 10 characters, each with unique combat skills and visual style. Alongside the character additions, players can jump into new game modes such as Ranked Battles, Quick Trials, and an intense 8v8 Team Deathmatch.
That’s not all. Testers will also gain access to five new weapons and two new vehicles, including a heavy-duty all-terrain SUV and a streamlined combat motorcycle. With destructible terrain, hovercars, gliders, floating islands, and even a neural network simulation system, the game is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious anime shooters in development.

Full Platform Launch Still Incoming
While the CBT is limited to PC, Fate Trigger is still confirmed for cross-platform release across mobile, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A global launch date has yet to be announced, but fans can expect more testing phases as development progresses.
If you’re eager to be part of the early experience, head to Steam now and register for the closed beta before slots fill up. Early testers will help shape the future of what could be Tencent’s next big esports-ready title.
