HoYoverse just announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” will release globally on July 2, 2025 across PC, iOS, Android, PS5, and the Epic Games Store. Set in the climactic Amphoreus arc, players will witness the Tearshaper duo—Trailblazer and Phainon—race to return the final Coreflame and usher in the dawn of the Era Nova.

Meet the New Playable Characters—Phainon, Saber & Archer

First up is Phainon, a 5-star Physical/Destruction hero native to Aedes Elysiae. He joins the roster on July 2 (EU/Asia) and July 1 (NA), wielding a Coreflame-powered Ultimate that transforms the battlefield with his “Territory”—friends briefly step aside, but their buffs endure.

Then, on July 11, Saber (Wind/Destruction) and Archer (Quantum/Hunt) arrive via a Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works crossover. Saber’s Ultimate “Excalibur” deals AoE Wind damage and charges Team Technique Points, while Archer unleashes his “Unlimited Blade Works” for devastating single-target bursts and bonus follow-up attacks.

New Story Missions, Events & Quality‑of‑Life Additions

Version 3.4 introduces deep narrative content—Phainon’s backstory in Aedes Elysiae, confrontation with Titans, and the shift toward Era Nova unravel in exciting Trailblaze Missions. The much-requested story skip feature lets players breeze through familiar cutscenes or rewatch favorites, enhancing convenience.

Roguelite minigames return, including the Origami Bird Clash. Expect special events like Gift of Odyssey, Planar Fissure, and the Fate crossover event Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War, where logging in during the event nets you free Archer.

Enhancements, Buffs & Smart Features Ahead

This update brings the first-ever character enhancements, letting players toggle on revamped kits for Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu—balancing nostalgia with strength.
