NetEase Games has officially confirmed that controller support is coming soon to the mobile version of their open-world survival game, Once Human. This announcement follows the game’s mobile launch on April 23, 2025, and addresses a significant request from the player community.
Enhancing Mobile Gameplay with Controller Support
Once Human immerses players in a post-apocalyptic world where they assume the role of a Meta-Human, battling against mutated creatures known as Deviants. The game features a vast 256 km² map with diverse terrains, including frozen tundras and active volcanoes. Players can build bases, gather resources, and engage in both PvE and PvP scenarios.
The addition of controller support aims to enhance the mobile gaming experience by providing more precise controls and reducing reliance on touchscreen inputs. This feature is particularly beneficial for players who prefer the tactile feedback of physical buttons during intense combat situations.

Upcoming Content and Features
In addition to controller support, NetEase Games has outlined a roadmap for Once Human that includes several new features and scenarios:
- Code: Purification: A scenario where players collaborate to cleanse the environment of pollution, with multiple possible outcomes based on player actions.
- Code: Deviation: This mode focuses on capturing and enhancing Deviants, allowing players to battle others in tournaments for rewards.
- Code: Broken: A 10-day PvP event where players compete in a free-for-all setting, utilizing super weapons crafted from gathered resources.
