Sucker Punch Productions has officially announced Ghost of Yōtei, the much-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Set to release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025, this installment introduces a fresh narrative and protagonist, Atsu, offering players a new journey through feudal Japan.

Atsu’s Quest for Vengeance

In Ghost of Yōtei, players will follow Atsu, a young ronin driven by a personal vendetta against the Yōtei Six—a group responsible for her family’s demise. Set in 1603 around Mount Yōtei in the Ezo region (modern-day Hokkaido), the game promises a rich, open-world experience filled with diverse landscapes and challenges.

Enhanced Gameplay and Visuals

Built from the ground up for the PS5, Ghost of Yōtei leverages the console’s capabilities to deliver stunning visuals, including expansive sightlines, dynamic weather systems, and realistic environmental interactions.

Strategic Release Timing

By setting the release date for early October, Sony positions Ghost of Yōtei ahead of other major titles expected later in the year, such as Grand Theft Auto VI. This timing aims to capture gamers’ attention before the holiday season’s crowded launch schedule.
