“Genshin Impact x Pizza Hut” Collaboration Forced To Stop Due To Massive Fan Turnout

“Genshin Impact” is one of the most successful RPGs to date. The globally beloved Free-To-Play Gacha RPG has retained a massive fan base even after 2 years, thanks to the lovable characters that keep getting added into the game as well as the constant influx of weekly events and of course, the recent version 3.0 update where the new region, Sumeru is now available to explore. With over 9 million active users and 700 thousand people playing at any given time, fans of “Genshin Impact” are a force to be reckoned with. One recent event in China became another proof of this.

“Genshin Impact x Pizza Hut Collaboration”

The popular American restaurant chain Pizza Hut has recently launched its “Genshin Impact x Pizza Hut” collaboration in China. First announced during version 2.8 of the game, the collaboration featured the characters Amber and Eula with Amber as a delivery personnel and Eula as a pizzaiolo or a pizza maker. The event will last for two weeks however one branch of Pizza Hut had to be closed down by the police for safety reasons due to the massive crowd of “Genshin” fans that turned up to participate.

Similar reports were made that other branches were forced to temporarily stop service for the same reasons. The same thing happened with their previous collaboration with KFC as well where even a cardboard cutout display of Noelle got stolen in one of the branches holding the event.

Safety First

Events like this are all good fun but it’s always better to put the safety of people first since COVID is still a thing. Besides, the Pizza Hut collaboration went back to full swing when the crowd became more organized. Hopefully, we’ll be able to have similar events like these in other regions as well minus the chaos. “Genshin Impact” is available for PC, mobile, and consoles. You can learn more about the game through their official website.
