“Silent Hill: Townfall” Konami Announces New Game Project

As part of the recently concluded “Silent Hill Transmission” live stream, a new game called “Silent Hill: Townfall” was announced. The game was revealed via a teaser trailer and will be developed by the people behind “Observation” which gives us some clues as to how the game might turn out. First-Person perspective, maybe?

Not much has been revealed about the game but the teaser trailer does leave a lot of clues. “Silent Hill’s” whole methodology is to trap people inside the titular town so they can face their deepest fears and sins, manifesting them into grotesque monsters. At the very least, it seems that in “Townfall,” you won’t be alone in facing the horrors lurking inside the town.

The teaser shows a small walkie-talkie with a video feed. You can see from the small screen various images of maps, places, and even horrible creatures, that you’ll likely encounter in the game. A man can be heard talking asking “Why are you here?” and continues to say “Here to be punished… That’s good I like it. I think we’ve done something so awful that we are stuck here in this place being judged by these… people.”

“Silent Hill: Townfall” will be developed by No Code, known for their games, “Stories Untold,” and “Observation,” with Annapurna Interactive as the publisher. No Code creative director, Jon McKellan said that they will respect the source material, but will also do something a bit different with the franchise.”

There’s nothing much to go on right now for “Townfall” but what clues we have so far are already chilling nonetheless. With No Code developing the game, we might see a First-Person Perspective type of game of “Silent Hill.” it won’t be surprising if it is indeed the case, seeing how successful “Resident Evil Village” was when it went to the FPS route. “Silent Hill: Townfall” is expected to release next year with further information revealed down the road including which platforms the game will be available.
