As part of the recently concluded “Silent Hill” Transmission” live stream, a new game called “Silent Hill F” was announced. The game will be bringing new elements to the long-running horror game franchise with the game’s events happening in 1960s Japan.
Just like the other games announced during the live stream, “Silent Hill F” will be developed by a different studio, this time, it will be Taiwan-based NeoBards Entertainment, known for the “Resident Evil: Re:Verse” and “Resident Evil: Resistance” games. The story will be written by Ryukishi07 (“When They Cry” series) with creature designs by Kera who has also worked on “Resident Evil: Resistance” and “Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition.” Motoi Okamoto will be producing the game who is best known for his work in Nintendo.
A fair warning: Do not watch the teaser trailer if you have trypophobia.
Still with us? “Silent Hill F” is described to be a beautiful yet horrific game. Nothing much is known about it but judging from the teaser, it seems like the themes will revolve around plants, maybe fungus? It also seems like Silent Hill has acquired new upgrades with it being able to manifest itself in Japan when the town is canonically located in Maine, New England. Of course, there’s also a possibility that this isn’t the titular town itself but another one similar to it with the same supernatural powers although how it manifests in “Silent Hill F” is different since it’s not above a burning coal mine.
There is no official release date for “Silent Hill F” just yet and the gaming platforms for it is yet to be announced. We can expect more information will be revealed in the following months.
