Marvel fans and gamers have something to anticipate this May with the emergence of Marvel Rivals. Developed by NetEase Games, this free-to-play PC game delivers an experience reminiscent of the popular multiplayer shooter Overwatch but with a superhero twist.
Set in the expansive Marvel Multiverse, Marvel Rivals invites players to embody iconic superheroes and supervillains, engaging in team-based battles across dynamic and destructible maps. The initial roster features 18 beloved characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Loki, and Black Panther, enabling players to assemble their dream team and unleash unique superpowers.
Marvel Rivals boasts a storyline crafted by NetEase’s writing team, centering on a clash between Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from 2099. This event, known as the Timestream Entanglement, has caused universes to collide, leading to new worlds and crises. Now, heroes and villains from across the multiverse must unite or face annihilation as they strive to thwart both Dooms’ ambitions.

Jay Ong, head of Marvel Games, lauded the project as one of their most ambitious yet, reflecting the passion and dedication poured into it. Collaborating closely with NetEase Games, the Marvel team aims to deliver the ultimate superhero team-based PVP shooter.

Get ready to assemble your team, unleash your powers, and emerge victorious in the ultimate battle across the Marvel Multiverse. The Closed Alpha Testing phase is scheduled sometime in May so stay tuned for more info!
