Santa Monica Studio, renowned for its critically acclaimed God of War series, appears to be branching out with a new intellectual property (IP). According to Glauco Longhi’s LinkedIn profile, he returned to Santa Monica Studio in early 2024 and now serves as Character Supervisor on this mysterious new project.

This marks a significant shift for the studio, which has been closely associated with the God of War franchise since its inception in 2005. Santa Monica Studio’s last original IP was Kinetica, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. Since then, they have primarily focused on expanding the God of War series.

While details about this new IP remain scarce, this move aligns with Sony’s recent strategy of diversifying its gaming portfolio. Fans eagerly await more information, hoping for another “big” release from the talented team at Santa Monica Studio.
