During Sony’s State of Play on September 24th, Sucker Punch Productions confirmed the development of Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to the 2020 hit Ghost of Tsushima. The new title is set for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5.
Ghost of Yotei will take place in the region of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), around 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The story introduces a new protagonist, Atsu, who takes on the mantle of the Ghost in the area surrounding Mount Yotei.

Sucker Punch has stated that the game will retain the core elements of its predecessor, such as exploration and combat in a feudal Japanese setting, while introducing new gameplay mechanics, weapon types, and enhancements. Built specifically for PlayStation 5, the game promises to deliver improved visuals, including detailed environmental effects and expanded draw distances.

Ghost of Tsushima sold over 8 million copies globally and was one of Sony’s fastest-selling new IPs. Expectations are high for Ghost of Yotei, as fans anticipate the next chapter in the series.
