In a swift response to community feedback, Marvel Rivals has canceled its planned mid-season rank reset, allowing players to maintain their hard-earned standings. Initially, Marvel Rivals announced a mid-season rank reset scheduled for February 21, 2025, which would have reduced players’ ranks by four divisions. For example, a player at Diamond I would have been reset to Platinum II.
This decision was met with significant opposition from the player base, who felt that frequent rank resets would undermine their progress and enjoyment of the game.

Developer’s Swift Reversal
Acknowledging the community’s concerns, NetEase Games, the developer of Marvel Rivals, promptly reversed the decision. In a recent update, they stated, “Players will retain their ranks and scores from the end of the first half.” This means that the planned mid-season rank reset will no longer occur, and players can continue their progression without interruption.
Looking Ahead
The mid-season update, still slated for February 21, will introduce new characters, including The Thing and Human Torch, along with balance adjustments. While the rank reset has been canceled, these new additions aim to enhance the gaming experience.
