Keanu Reeves Wants to Return as Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED is officially developing a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, though it remains in early pre-production with no release date in sight. Despite that, one familiar voice and face may return: Keanu Reeves has expressed his excitement about reprising his role as Johnny Silverhand.

Speaking to IGN while promoting his latest film Good Fortune, Reeves didn’t hesitate when asked if he would come back.

“Absolutely. I’d love to play Johnny Silverhand again,” he said.

How Could Johnny Silverhand Return?

For fans who’ve completed Cyberpunk 2077, Silverhand’s fate leaves questions about how he could reappear in the sequel. His return could potentially come through flashbacks, digital fragments, or entirely new narrative twists. CDPR has not confirmed anything yet, but Reeves’ willingness ensures the door is open.

Cyberpunk Sequel Still Years Away

The last major update came from Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith, who described the sequel’s setting as “like Chicago gone wrong” after visiting CDPR’s studio. However, with the team also focused on developing The Witcher 4, fans may have to wait years before significant details surface.

Still, Reeves’ statement adds excitement to the long road ahead, with many hopeful that Johnny Silverhand’s rebellious spirit will once again light up Night City’s neon skyline.
