Tokyo Game Show 2025 Wraps Up with 263,000 Attendees, 2026 Dates Revealed

The COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT SUPPLIER’S ASSOCIATION (CESA) announced that the total number of visitors to Tokyo Game Show
2025
(TGS2025), held at Makuhari Messe brought together 263,101 visitors over four days from September 25 to 28, 2025.

While slightly lower than last year’s 274,739 visitors, this year’s attendance still outperformed 2023’s 243,238, proving that TGS continues to stand strong as one of the world’s biggest gaming events. Global audiences also tuned in through official livestreams, with final online viewership figures to be announced soon.

Record-Breaking Exhibitors and Major Announcements

With this year’s theme “Unlimited, Neverending Playground,” TGS2025 welcomed a new record of 1,136 exhibitors from 47 countries and regions. The show floor was packed with upcoming titles for consoles, PC, mobile, and VR, plus new gaming tech, merchandise, and creative industry solutions.

Among the most anticipated programs were the Opening Keynote, the Japan Game Awards 2025: Future Division, and the Top Game Creators Academy, held in partnership with the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan Arts Council. These sessions shined a spotlight on the next generation of creators and the growing artistry of game development.

Business Growth and Global Reach

This year’s TGS Business Matching System recorded 3,591 meetings, showing how the event continues to drive partnerships and collaborations across the gaming industry. Tokyo Game Show 2025 reached fans everywhere with 21 official broadcasts streaming on YouTube, Twitch, X, and Niconico. In China, viewers joined through DouYu and bilibili, while IGN delivered global coverage for fans across North America and Europe.

Looking Ahead to Tokyo Game Show 2026

For the first time, CESA announced that Tokyo Game Show 2026 will return to Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21. It will run for five days, providing even more opportunities for fans and industry professionals to connect. Both the physical and online experiences are expected to grow next year.
