Hideo Kojima Voices Mole in Zootopia 2 Japanese Dub

The legendary video game creator Hideo Kojima will make a special cameo appearance in the Japanese dubbed version of Disney’s hit animated sequel, Zootopia 2. This marks his first time providing a voice for an animated feature film.

Cameo Role and Director’s Invitation

Kojima was personally invited by Jared Bush, a director of Zootopia 2 and the Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation Studios, to join the cast. Kojima accepted the offer without hesitation, as the original Zootopia is one of his favorite Disney movies. In the Japanese dub, Kojima voices the character named “Paul Moldebrandt,” or the Mole.

Kojima’s Experience

Although Kojima has plenty of experience with cameos in live action films and games, this was his first time dubbing an animated movie. He shared his excitement about the opportunity, mentioning that he was honored and learned a lot from the recording process. He praised the sequel, stating that the feeling he got during the recording convinced him that this “new Zootopia” will definitely surpass the original. Zootopia 2 has already premiered worldwide to critical acclaim and will head to Japanese cinemas on December 5.
