The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Delayed to March 2026

Netmarble and developer Netmarble F&C have announced that the highly anticipated open-world action RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, will no longer meet its original January 28 release date. The game is now scheduled to launch in March 2026 for PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. According to a statement from the publisher, the delay is a direct response to feedback gathered during a closed beta test in November. While the test showed strong interest in the game’s graphics and story, it also revealed significant “points of friction” that the development team felt required fundamental structural changes rather than simple numerical tweaks.

Key Areas for Improvement

The developers identified three primary areas where the game fell short of player expectations during the beta. First, participants noted that the controls felt unresponsive, particularly regarding character handling and targeting. Second, the combat system was criticized for having an excessive difficulty curve and a slow tempo. Finally, the user interface was deemed overly complex and unintuitive. By pushing the release back by two months, the team aims to overhaul these systems to ensure a smoother and more responsive experience at launch. Netmarble emphasized that delivering a complete and polished game is their top priority over adhering to a strict schedule.

Looking Ahead to the March Launch

Despite the disappointment of the delay, Netmarble expressed gratitude for the “extensive and in-depth” feedback provided by the community. Internal surveys revealed that the majority of beta testers still intend to play the game upon its official release, buoyed by the faithful recreation of the anime’s world and the dynamic “tag-based” action combat. Detailed developer notes have been published on the official website to keep fans informed about the specific progress of these improvements. As March approaches, expectations remain high for what is being positioned as one of the most ambitious anime-to-game adaptations in recent years.
