Razer Edge 5G, Verison Pre-Announces New Android Gaming Handheld

The Razer Edge 5G is a brand-new Android gaming handheld with 5G connectivity pre-announced by the American network provider, Verizon. According to the company, the Razer Edge 5G will be developed on top of a Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 Gaming Platform and intended for high-performance gaming on the go. Verizon calls it “The world’s first 5G gaming handheld.”

The name of the new handheld gaming device implies that it is an update to the 2013 Razer Edge model. Users can stream console games and cloud games in addition to playing mobile games locally on this new Razer Edge 5G. And since it has 5G connectivity, it will increase the device’s competitiveness against other handhelds.

The gadget will be competing with some formidable opponents, like the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and even Logitech’s recently unveiled G Cloud portable. Admittedly, that market is very busy and right now, competitive. After all, you can already stream console games through Xbox and PlayStation online services or play mobile games on your phone. But perhaps Razer Edge 5G will find its own market with gamers who both on multiple platforms.

The price and release information for Razer Edge 5G have not yet been announced. Verizon promises to make additional about the gaming handled on October 15.
