In a major surprise during today’s September 2025 Nintendo Direct, Capcom announced that three Resident Evil titles are headed to the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans can look forward to Resident Evil Requiem (Resident Evil 9), Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village arriving on February 27, 2026.
The announcement included a brand-new look at Resident Evil Requiem, the highly anticipated next entry in the survival horror saga. Launching on the same day across multiple platforms, Requiem continues Capcom’s evolution of the iconic franchise with new gameplay mechanics and story elements.

While Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village have already terrified players worldwide, this marks the first time these modern installments will be fully playable on Nintendo’s next-generation console. The trailer showcased upgraded performance on Switch 2 hardware, giving fans a taste of what to expect when they return to the Baker estate or the haunting village.

Together, the three titles represent the franchise’s leap forward into the Switch 2 era, offering both newcomers and longtime players the chance to experience the horror, survival, and cinematic storytelling that define Resident Evil.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 8: Village, and Resident Evil 9: Requiem will all release for Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026.
