Digimon: Source Code, a mobile turn-based RPG from Bandai Namco (Shanghai) and Kingnet, is officially shutting down its service in China. The game’s servers will be permanently shut down on January 26, 2026. This announcement marks a disappointing end for the title, which had a long development period, including a closed beta in late 2021 and a full launch in April 2025. Despite its relatively short operating time in the Chinese market, sources suggest poor revenue performance is the likely reason for the shutdown.

Global Launch Missed
Adding to the disappointment for fans worldwide, Digimon: Source Code will close down without ever receiving a global release. The game, which featured interesting turn-based combat, exploration mechanics, and a unique lack of stamina limits for exploration, was a China-exclusive title. The closure effectively ends all hope for international distribution.

Shutdown Schedule
The official service closure process begins soon: all new downloads, registration, new character creation, and in-game purchases will be shut off on November 26, 2025. Once the final date of January 26, 2026, arrives, the Chinese servers will go offline permanently.
