English voice actors have declined to return to the popular gacha game “Snowbreak: Containment Zone” due to its direction towards fanservice. This information was shared in a statement on the game’s official Discord channel, explaining the actors’ refusal and the current status of the English dub.

“Snowbreak: Containment Zone,” available on iOS, Android, and PC, initially removed its English dub late last year following an assessment of “voice-over preferences,” suggesting that most players preferred the Japanese voice-over. However, as the game’s popularity surged, developers at Seasun reached out to the original English voice actors to reintroduce the English dub, citing improvements in the game.

Despite these efforts, the English voice actors declined the offer due to the game’s shift towards fanservice content. This decision has sparked varied reactions among the game’s fanbase. Some players are indifferent or pleased, interpreting the actors’ departure as filtering those who may not align with the game’s evolving content. Others see it as part of a broader division within fandom communities, between traditional anime and manga fans who accept fanservice as a staple of the medium, and newer fans who are critical of such content.

As a result, Seasun has confirmed there are no plans to restore the English voice-over in “Snowbreak: Containment Zone.” The game continues to be enjoyed by many in its current state, with its Japanese dub remaining the primary voice-over option.
