Global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse, formerly known as MiHoYo has recently announced that its headquarters office has been officially opened in Singapore. With a 28,000-square-foot site and a flexible work environment, the Singapore office will house a dedicated team of professionals to provide high-quality entertainment services worldwide.
Producing Massive Hit After Massive Hit
HoYoverse creates immersive experiences using boundary-breaking technology, catering to a passionate global fan community. The company has published critically-acclaimed titles including Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Tears of Themis, and a wide range of animations, comics, music, merchandise, and other content. Its recent announcements of two new games, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, have stirred up immense excitement among global gamers.

Their First Office In Southeast Asia
After Montreal, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Seoul, the opening of the Singapore office marks another strategic move in HoYoverse’s global expansion. Going forward, the Singapore office will serve as a key hub for HoYoverse’s global distribution and operation efforts, working closely with other offices and providing technical support for game development.
“Our team in Singapore will play a crucial role in broadening our global development and service network. We’re eager for more creative minds from diverse backgrounds to join us in building the future.”
– Forrest Liu, HoYoverse Co-Founder

HoYoverse is embracing a flexible working model, encouraging employees based in Singapore and North America to work wherever they feel most creative and productive. In the meantime, the company will provide the necessary equipment, technical support, and well-structured welfare and benefit packages to ensure an inclusive and safe work environment.

Moving Outside China
Although this reason was not officially stated, HoYoverse’s move to build its headquarters outside of mainland China is quite obvious. The country has lately been tightening its grip on game developers to the point that they are trying to control them for its own agenda. HoYoverse is not the only company moving outside China. Even Netease and Tencent have been doing it for quite some time now. With the opening of its Singapore headquarters office, the company can now create games without China poking its nose into its business. Hoyoverse will also add hundreds of jobs by the end of 2022. Current job openings seek experts in game development, engineering, marketing, product, operations, function, and project management. For details, please visit the HoYoverse recruitment website.
