KRAFTON Faces Legal Battle Over Alleged Sexual Assault & Wrongful Termination

KRAFTON, the developer behind PUBG Mobile, is embroiled in a lawsuit involving allegations of sexual assault and wrongful termination. The plaintiff, a former employee, claims that she was terminated after reporting sexual assault by a high-ranking executive.

The lawsuit, filed in December 2023 at the Los Angeles Supreme Court, provides details of the alleged events. The plaintiff, employed at KRAFTON from 2021 to 2023, asserts that Kevin Kimball, a former executive, sexually assaulted her on December 8, 2022, during a work-related event following the Game Awards in Los Angeles.

According to legal documents, the assault occurred at a party hosted by Striking Distance Studios, a subsidiary of KRAFTON. The plaintiff alleges that Kimball made unwanted advances and assaulted her in a restroom stall after providing her with more alcohol. Despite reporting the incident to KRAFTON management, the lawsuit claims that her complaints were ignored, and she was terminated two months later, perceived as retaliation.

Kevin Kimball, the accused former executive, has not responded to requests for comment. KRAFTON, recognizing the gravity of the allegations, has chosen not to comment on the specifics due to ongoing legal proceedings.

This lawsuit not only exposes the details of the alleged incident but also raises concerns about workplace misconduct and the responsibility of the gaming industry to address such issues. The plaintiff’s claims, if proven true, highlight a critical need for stronger measures within gaming companies to prevent and address harassment and assault.
