Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC Adds Mega Raichu Forms & Hoopa Storyline

During the latest Nintendo Direct, fans were treated to the surprise announcement of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension, a story expansion that continues the adventure in Lumiose City after the main campaign. According to the official Pokémon website, the DLC introduces new storylines, Pokémon forms, and exclusive bonuses for early buyers.

New Storyline Featuring Hoopa and Team MZ

Following the events of the main game, players will face new challenges involving Team MZ and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. Known as the Mischief Pokémon, Hoopa manipulates space through its rings, warping dimensions and opening pathways across Lumiose. With spatial distortions spreading throughout the city, Trainers will uncover a mysterious new chapter tied to Lumiose’s urban redevelopment.

Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y Revealed

The DLC also introduces two brand-new Mega Evolutions:

Mega Raichu X: Uses electromagnetism to levitate and channels electrifying power into devastating melee attacks.
Mega Raichu Y: Focuses on speed, striking with rapid and precise electric blasts.

Each evolution requires a distinct Mega Stone, forcing Trainers to carefully choose their preferred path.

DLC Bonuses and Pre-Order Rewards

Players who purchase Mega Dimension will unlock exclusive Holo-X and Holo-Y apparel sets for character customization. Early adopters who pre-order before February 28, 2026, will also receive a Luxurious Poké Ball Set, containing premium Poké Balls for catching rare Pokémon.

The DLC will be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are already live on the My Nintendo Store, which is offering exclusive physical bonuses.

Expanding the World of Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launches with Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as starter Pokémon, set against the backdrop of Lumiose’s redevelopment project. With Mega Dimension expanding the adventure beyond launch, fans can expect even more mysteries, battles, and discoveries long after release.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Mega Dimension DLC release globally on October 16, 2025.
