Ragnarok: Monster World Confirms Shutdown by End of 2025

Inspired by the popular Ragnarok IP, the blockchain-based game Ragnarok: Monster World will officially shut down on December 29, 2025. The developers revealed that the difficult decision to discontinue the game’s service was caused by ongoing financial difficulties and prior operational problems.

What’s taking place and when

All blockchain and NFT features, such as wallet support, token trading, and marketplace activity, will be turned off prior to the final closure, but players can still enjoy the game until the end of December. Soon after, community platforms and support channels will also close, signaling the project’s final conclusion.

A Short but Turbulent Journey

Ragnarok: Monster World, which debuted in October 2024, aimed to combine tower-defense gameplay with blockchain elements like token-based rewards and NFT integration. Even though the Ragnarok brand was well-known, the game had trouble sustaining its player base and managing its financial viability, which finally caused it to be discontinued.
