SHIFT UP, the South Korean studio behind Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, has unveiled the first key visual for its upcoming title, Project Spirits. Previously known as Project Witches, this cross-platform game embraces the theme of “Eastern Fantasy” and is slated for a global release in 2027.
The newly released key visual showcases a richly detailed world blending traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern fantasy elements. This visual sets the tone for what SHIFT UP describes as a “subculture” title, aiming to deliver a unique gaming experience that builds upon the studio’s expertise in high-quality game development.

A New Flagship Title in Development
According to SHIFT UP’s official description, Project Spirits is being developed as a top-tier quality game, following the success of Stellar Blade and NIKKE. The studio is leveraging its proven track record in intellectual property creation to craft this new flagship project.
The game is planned as a cross-platform release, targeting consoles, PC, and mobile devices. This approach aligns with SHIFT UP’s strategy to reach a broad audience and deliver a cohesive gaming experience across multiple platforms.

SHIFT UP has posted job listings for several development roles related to Project Spirits, including background artist, battle planner, character artist, lead content planner, level designer, monster artist, previsualization artist, and screenwriter.
