2XKO Global Closed Beta Registration Now Open: Riot’s LoL Fighting Game Enters Testing Phase

Big news for fighting game fans and League of Legends veterans alike—2XKO, the anticipated 2v2 tag-based fighter from Riot Games, has officially opened its Global Closed Beta registration. Mark your calendars: testing begins September 5, and you can sign up now at 2XKO official website.

What Is 2XKO? Riot’s Fighting Game Spin-Off Explained

Formerly known as Project L, 2XKO is Riot’s stylish entry into the competitive fighting genre. It’s built from the ground up for 2v2 team-based battles. You’ll pick two champions—a primary fighter and a support who can be tagged in for combos or clutch moments. Think fast-paced, strategic, and hype-inducing.

And yes, it’s all part of the League of Legends universe! You’ll see familiar faces like Ahri, Yasuo, and Jinx, each reimagined with brand-new animations and fighting abilities.

Who’s Playable in the Closed Beta?

The Closed Beta build includes 8 playable champions:
Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Yasuo, and the newly announced Vi. This test version will be available exclusively on PC, but Riot has confirmed the full game will support cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S when it launches in 2025.

One big perk? No progress wipe. If you participate in this Beta, your progress carries over!

How to Register

You can sign up now for the Global Closed Beta via the official site. Riot hasn’t specified how many players will be selected, so registering early gives you the best shot. If you’re lucky enough to get in, you’ll receive details by email ahead of the September 5 rollout.
