Chrono Odyssey: Next-Gen MMORPG Said to be Inspired by Prometheus and Chrono Trigger

Drawing inspiration from the cosmic horror of Prometheus and the time-travel mechanics of Chrono Trigger, the next-gen MMORPG, Chrono Odyssey, integrates space-time manipulation into its core gameplay. Players will utilize the “Chronotector” artifact to explore past and future events, offering a non-linear questing experience that deviates from traditional MMORPG structures.

Innovative Combat Mechanics

Departing from the conventional tank-healer-damage roles, Chrono Odyssey introduces a dynamic combat system. Players can wield two weapons simultaneously, enabling parrying and evasion tactics. This hybrid approach allows for flexible playstyles, ensuring that no class is at a disadvantage. The game features six distinct classes: Swordsman, Ranger, Sorcerer, Paladin, Berserker, and Assassin, each offering unique abilities and time-manipulation skills.

Upcoming Closed Beta Test

A global Closed Beta Test (CBT) is scheduled for June 2025, exclusively on PC. With over 400,000 players already registered, this CBT will provide participants with an early look at the game’s innovative mechanics and immersive world. Interested players can sign up through the official Chrono Odyssey website or via Steam.

Launch Details and Platforms

Chrono Odyssey is set to release in Q4 2025 as a Buy-to-Play title, eliminating the need for ongoing subscription fees. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5, the game promises a seamless open world with diverse biomes, dynamic weather systems, and a day-night cycle that reflects the passage of time.
