Grim Diary is a turn-based, roguelike deckbuilder RPG developed by Filipino indie studio LepusGameDev (also known as Lepus) currently in Early Access on PC via Steam, launched June 13, 2025. The game mixes anime visuals with strategic, survival-focused gameplay and a heartfelt narrative.

Emotional Journey: Story & Characters

Set in an alternate world, Grim Diary follows Emi, a determined sister on a quest to restore her sister Eli, now a living marionette, back to human form. Accompanied by Yujin, lodged as a mentor figure, Emi navigates chapters that weave together visual novel storytelling and turn-based combat.

Deep Strategy in Accessible Format

Designed with newcomers in mind, Grim Diary offers an in-game tutorial that teaches card and roguelike mechanics without overwhelming players. The rogue-like deckbuilder campaign includes over 39 unique cards, 17+ items, and modes featuring bizarre survival twists stage by stage.

What’s in Early Access & Roadmap

With three playable characters—Emi, Eli, Yujin—and three story chapters, the current build also includes Arcade Mode, where players face waves across up to 30 survival stages The developer plans to expand content over two years, with more characters and story chapters beyond Early Access. Community feedback is encouraged via Discord and social media channels.
