Meet Phoenix & Blade
Jean Grey enters Season 3 as the cosmic Phoenix, a Duelist blazing with creation and destruction. She’s the first playable hero of the season, tasked with extinguishing a cosmic darkness. Blade, the vampire hunter, joins during the mid-season update (Season 3.5) on August 8, equipped with a flaming sword and vampiric flair.
New Battlefield: Klyntar’s Celestial Husk
Battles now shift to Klyntar: Celestial Husk, an eerie map set atop the remains of a fallen Celestial orbiting the symbiote homeworld. It’s rugged, vertical, and dynamic—perfect for strategic team engagements with thematic hazards.
Fresh Modes, Mission Revamp & Team-Ups
Expect a suite of updates: a revamped mission system, accessory customization, a new competitive mode coming in Season 3.5, and four Team-Up combos like Phoenix + Wolverine that add strategic duo power. Color-matched cosmetics, rotating costume trials for verified university students, and a stream of themed events (Twitch drops included) support the update.
San Diego Comic-Con & Competitive Updates
Marvel Rivals heads to SDCC (July 24–27) with demos, giveaways, and a special panel on hero creation. For competitive players, expect hero balance tweaks (including buffs for The Thing and nerfs for Iron Man), refreshed UI, and post-match MVP animations.
