NEXON has officially announced that the public alpha test for Vindictus: Defying Fate will commence on Steam in June 2025. This follows the successful pre-alpha test conducted in March 2024. The upcoming alpha introduces significant enhancements and new content based on player feedback.

New Playable Characters

The alpha test expands the roster to four playable characters:

• Lann: A swift dual-sword wielder.
• Fiona: A balanced sword and shield fighter.
• Delia: A noble warrior with a massive greatsword, delivering elegant yet devastating strikes.
• Karok: A half-giant brute who crushes enemies with a giant pillar, offering a tank-like playstyle.

Enhanced Combat Mechanics

Combat remains at the core of Vindictus: Defying Fate. The alpha introduces the “Special Action” mechanic, rewarding precise timing:

• Perfect Dodge: Triggers a powerful counterattack.
• Perfect Guard: Blocks all damage and opens counter opportunities.

Additionally, the “Fatal Action” allows players to execute a finishing move when an enemy’s stagger gauge is full.

New Features and Systems

The alpha test brings several new features:

• Companion NPCs: AI-controlled allies assist during battles, enhancing solo and group play.
• Multiplayer Raids: Engage in co-op raid-style encounters alongside other players.
• New Village Zone: A central hub for exploration, resource gathering, and interactions with key NPCs.
• Progression Systems: Includes leveling, weapon crafting, and ability customization.
