“Honkai: Star Rail” Guide: Should You Reroll And How To Do It?

“Honkai: Star Rail,” the latest addition to the “Honkai Impact” series, has been generating a lot of excitement among gamers. However, if you’re looking to get a specific character, you might need to reroll. Unfortunately, Mihoyo has removed the Guest Login option from their games, which means you’ll need to use a different account for every reroll attempt. In this guide, we’ll discuss if it is worth it to reroll in the game and if so, how to do it.

Should You Reroll In “Honkai: Star Rail?”

The Short Answer? No, it is not worth it. If you want to know why, read on. Rerolling in “Honkai: Star Rail” is a time-consuming process. It takes around 30-40 minutes to finish the tutorial and reach the moment when you can start pulling. This is because the tutorial is quite story-heavy, and you can’t skip any of the conversations, so you have to click through them.

The rates in the game are pretty low, with only a 0.6% chance of getting a 5★ character. This means that it might take you a whole day of rolling to get one. Even then, there’s a high chance it will be someone you don’t want, as you’ll only be able to do roughly 20-22 pulls when you unlock Warping. It’s also important to note that while you’ll receive 20 Star Rail Passes (summon tickets) from pre-register, you can’t use them on the Rate-Up banners. This makes rerolling for Seele (or whoever will be the first rate-up) almost impossible.

However, there is a guaranteed way to obtain a 5★ character in Honkai: Star Rail. You’ll be guaranteed to obtain a 5★ character from the Departure Warp Banner within the first 50 pulls. This means that if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, you can get the character you want without relying on luck. Assuming you still want to reroll, read on to find out the steps.

How To Reroll In “Honkai: Star Rail?”

Unfortunately, there’s only one method for rerolling in “Honkai: Star Rail.” You’ll need to prepare multiple dummy emails if you plan to reroll.

  1. Log in the game using a new email.
  2. Get through all the dialogues which will take you roughly 30 to 40 minutes.
  3. Once you’re done with that, you’ll get the 20 pulls from the pre-registration.
  4. Play through the game until you reach Trailblazer level 5 for an additional 10 pulls.
  5. By now you have 30 pulls. If you play through the game until Trailblazer level 15, you get 10 more pulls.
  6. Spend your gacha tickets. If you get lucky and get a 5* character, you are done. But…
  7. If you were unlucky, or did not like the 5* character you got, log out of the game, and log in again using a new email.
  8. Repeat the process until desired character is obtained.

The bright side? If you’re playing on PC, you may be able to use emulators with their multi-instance feature to reroll multiple accounts simultaneously.

Possible 5* Characters You Can Get

Bailu – One of the only 2 healers that will be available upon launch. Very important unit to get if you plan to take on the Forgotten Hall mode.

Bronya – Universal support and one of the only few characters that will not be power crept for quite a long time. If you plan to make a hyper-carry team, she is a must.

Clara – has the highest damage output during the initial launch of the game but she can only reach that damage potential if she gets attacked.

Himeko – Himeko excels in AoE damage and can usually wipe a wave of enemies in no time. She needs to be paired with a single target DPS cause once there’s only one enemy left on the field, her damage output plummets.

Gepard – has a strong party shield but can only do it sparingly. If you get Gepard, you most likely won’t need a healer for a while.

Yanqing – a single target damage dealer with a high crit rate and crit damage thanks to his buff.

Welt – Welt is a debuffer and the only Imaginary type character in the game’s initial release.
