Netflix’s Devil May Cry Anime Adaptation Set for April 2025 Release

Netflix has announced that the Devil May Cry anime adaptation will air in April 2025. The news was revealed during Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024 event, which also debuted the first teaser for the highly anticipated series.

The anime is based on Capcom’s popular Devil May Cry game franchise, created by Hideki Kamiya. The story follows Dante, a demon hunter on a mission to avenge his mother’s death and protect the human realm from demonic forces. The first season is expected to consist of eight episodes, featuring fan-favorite characters like Dante, Vergil, and Lady.

Adi Shankar, known for his work on Castlevania, has written the script for the first season, with additional input from writer Alex Larsen. Shankar also confirmed plans for multiple seasons. The series is being animated by Studio Mir, best known for their work on The Legend of Korra and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno and Studio Mir’s Seung-wook Lee will serve as executive producers.

Fans of the game franchise are eager to see how the anime adaptation translates Devil May Cry’s iconic action and storytelling to the screen.
