Breaking the promise of its one-shot format, Netflix and CD PROJEKT RED have confirmed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, currently in production following a shocking reveal at Anime Expo 2025. This means more brutal tales from Night City are on the horizon!

Fresh Story, Same High-Octane Style

This isn’t a direct sequel. Instead, the new season offers a standalone 10-episode arc featuring entirely fresh characters and a grittier narrative centered on redemption and revenge in the neon-drenched streets. Season 1’s David isn’t returning—but the world is.

Who’s Behind the Sequel

Studio TRIGGER is back at the helm, ensuring the same explosive visuals and energy fans loved. The original team also returns: Bartosz Sztybor as showrunner/writer/producer, Masahiko Otsuka on screenplay, Kanno Ichigo handling character design, and Kai Ikarashi (SSSS.Gridman, Edgerunners Ep 6) making his directorial debut.

What to Watch For

Expect teaser footage, a new poster, and that unmistakable logo—all unveiled at Anime Expo. A closed-door preview fueled fan speculation. But there’s no release date yet.
