During an event for the sixth season of the “My Hero Academia” anime, it was announced that a fourth film is in the works. The original manga creator, Kōhei Horikoshi, will oversee the project and design the original characters. The film will feature an original storyline set around the same time as the current events in the TV anime, focusing on the collapse of a safe society.
The sixth season of the “My Hero Academia” anime premiered in October 2022 and aired for 25 episodes across two continuous cours (quarter of a year). Crunchyroll streamed the anime with both Japanese audio and English dub, while Toonami also aired it.
Furthermore, there are plans for a seventh season of the anime. The series first premiered in April 2016 with a 13-episode season, followed by a 25-episode second season in April 2017 and a 25-episode third season in April 2018. The fourth season aired in Japan in October 2019, comprising 25 episodes. Additionally, a two-episode original video anime streamed in Japan in August 2020 and was available on Funimation and Crunchyroll.

The fifth season premiered in Japan in March 2021 and ran for 25 episodes. A new two-episode original video anime was screened in Japan in June 2022, and Crunchyroll handled its streaming.

In the past, the My Hero Academia franchise has produced three films: “My Hero Academia: Two Heroes,” which premiered in Japan in July 2018, followed by “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” in December 2019. The most recent film, “My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission,” opened in Japan in August 2021 and later in the United States in October 2021, where it achieved significant success, earning over US$10 million.
